On day two we stopped in Chattanooga to do a few things in the mountains. We ate at a cafe-ish type of a place called The Purple Daisy. Next, we rode the trail car up Lookout Mountain. Can you see the "circle blob" in the city way down at the end of the mountain. That's where we started at. I have gotten a little scared of heights in my older days, but it wasn't so bad...at first. We got about 2/3 of the way up and that's when it took steep to a new level. Carlyn and I were both "white knuckling" it. All I kept thinking was how was I going to do the ride down? Now it didn't faze either of the boys one bit. They thought it was great! Once we got to the top we took lots of pictures and we all gazed in amazement. You can see 6 different states from way up there. How beautiful! Needless to say, we made it back down to the bottom without any problem. We got ice cream at a little shop across the way and got back on the road. We made it just on the other side of Atlanta that night and ordered pizza in and watched the new Alvin & The Chipmunks movie.
