Almost Six!

Carlyn turns six this week. She has been needing a new comforter, so we told her we'd get her one for her birthday. She wants her dad to paint her walls Cotton Candy Blue. I figured she'd say blue, but am still wondering where she came up with the Cotton Candy. So we are compromising. Her walls are staying lavender and I promised her we could go shopping and she could pick out her own bedding. After going in and out of EVERY store in Champaign, she decided to order one from the Penneys catalog. She just knew that she would find one she liked better at the next store. Guess what color it has in it: Cotton Candy Blue (turquoise). It was too fun! We also went into Claires. It's every girls dream. Headbands and jewelry and locked boxes. Yep, we came home with this box thing (its not even a jewelry box) that locks and has two keys. She has her lip gloss and dollars locked up in it. She is getting big, too fast! Even her taste in a comforter looks older. She wore a dress all day today and played with Barbies. She likes to wear headbands now instead of pigtails and is all about her shoes. I guess its just the little things like this that make her seem older. At the end of the day though, she is still my baby.
