This is Lucey, the newest member of our family. We had been telling Carlyn that we'd get a cat for the longest time now. Grandma and Grandpa were going to stop by my Aunt Beth's on their way home from Florida. She always has tons of cats and so I asked Grandma if she'd see if Beth had any kittens yet. Well, this was the only one she had. I was hesitant about having a female cat, we've always had males. I was also not sure how happy Carlyn would be that she was around 5 months old already. But Grandma insisted that this kitten was so sweet. So I gave her the go ahead. They had gotten here right before Carlyn got off the bus and what a great surprise...a grandma and grandpa you hadn't seen in months and A NEW CAT! Needless to say she was thrilled. Right away, she named it Lucey. Not spelled LUCY, spelled LUCEY. (Not sure why that makes a difference but she sure was adamant about it!) This cat is great, seriously! She has made herself right at home and is so good with the kids. She has not tried to bite anyone and purrs all the time. Her and Carlyn definitely have a bond already. She will lay with her all night if we'd let her. And so far the new has not worn off yet. Carlyn has fed, watered and scooped the litter box, everyday with out being asked.
