Spring Break

This spring break was a little shorter than usual due to the snow days. However, we got to play outside, celebrate a birthday with a friend and get out of town for a long weekend. We went to the Bass Pro Shop, which is right up the kid's alley. (Dad's too!) They got to check out all the mounts and even get their picture taken with the bear. They were more excited than a kid in a candy shop!

I think Bo was worried the bear was going to get him.

Carlyn and Aldon were both a little more brave while swimming. By the last night, Carlyn was swimming underwater without plugging her nose. We were able to visit the Creation Museum. It had so many exhibits about the Old Testament and explained how dinosaurs were created by God and aren't millions of years old. There was a planetarium and lots more.

Last stop was to the Aquarium. Carlyn got to pet a sting ray.
Aldon could hardly wait to go to the "Dangerous and Deadly' exhibit. He loved looking at the alligators, sharks and poisonous frogs.
Bo swears this big frog "bit" him. He is pointing to the spot on his hand that got "bit." If you can't tell, the frog is surrounded by some very thick glass.

They all were able to pet a shark. Carlyn petted several and loved the big black shark. It took the boys a little while to work up enough courage to pet them, but they all enjoyed it!

(This next part is narrated by Carlyn and Aldon.)

We got to see a penguin show. They are absolutely beautiful! They had fun!
Carlyn had so so much fun at the aquarium and she enjoyed it! Her favorite thing at the aquarium was the big white shark. She even brought home some shark teeth as a reminder and it was the funnest time when we got to see the sea horses and star fish.
Aldon had the funnest time with the fake penguins. Aldon's favorite thing was being able to pet the shark and he liked seeing the scuba divers. He found a play scuba diver in the gift shop and can't wait to play with it in the tub.
Bowen was not interested in the fake penguins.
